Took my “Princess” out fishing with me today because, well, she wanted too (and who am I to say no?). Got up early and took off for a quick trip at one of the nearby lakes. She had her shoes and rod in hand by the time I said “let’s go”…
She’s got this cute little Princess rod which she has been using for a few years now. I wouldn’t be laughing as she’s caught some nice largemouth’ with it. She actually brought in a 4-1/2# with that rod; I kid you not!
So anyways, back to the current story. Ok, we got to the lake about 7:30am, hooked up a watermelon seed senko to her hook and let her go. Fishing was slooooooow. No bites so after about 30 minutes, we switched baits. We both went to small grubs. Fifteen minutes in, I caught a 1 lb’er. Of course, that didn’t sit well with Ms. Pretty, so immediately I asked whether she wanted to bring it in and of course she refused it.
We did a few color changes but the bite was cold. She lasted about a few minutes after that so we picked up and rolled home. In the car she mentioned she would have tried a little longer if I hadn’t left her chair at home; SORRY, MY BAD!!

Love the story! My husband goes trout fishing every weekend but can’t get my son to go very often. I guess it moves too slow in his “video gamer” world.
Oh, “Dad!” How COULD you forget that chair??
Glad you got to go. I know a lot of my best childhood memories were out hunting/fishing with my dad as a small child.
Those are the one’s that stick around
Thanks for the comments..
Ally - Yes, my son’s have that same mentality. I guess it would be different if the fish came out shooting water guns or something
Ryan - I’ll try to remember next time. I’m still paying for it…
