Trip of a lifetime

Unfortunately (for me), I was not able to hit the water this weekend as originally planned. Other priorities had a good grab on me. The weather would of been fabulous to try out winter techniques; something that I rarely do as 1) there is no winter here and 2) don’t have the patience of traditionally “slow” fishing.

Nonetheless, I had some extra time and came across this trip of a lifetime. 100 fishing days extravaganza. Kon-Tiki 2006Actually it’s 100 days on a raft, but they need to eat don’t they?? Check out the website for more information. Mustad from Norway is sponsoring the new Kon-tiki-Tangaroa expedition and will keep a blog on it’s trials on the Pacific.

The raft launches April 26, 2006 in Peru
through it’s voyage to Polynesia on or about August 1, 2006.

In closing, I definately encourage everyone to check out their progress.. I’m sure there will be some great fish stories coming from here; not to mention the durability of the equipment (including rods steming from their offices rite here in Miami.

Had to come back to thank you for posting this article. It’s interesting but I would not exactly call it a trip of a lifetime :o
